Friday Night Date Night.....at HOME

One of our favorite things to do is STAY HOME on a Friday night!

After a long work week, there is nothing better than watching the clock tic 5 o’clock so we can get the party started

So, here’s how it goes…..

For us, Friday nights in the winter are for burgers, martinis and backgammon!

Usually, around 6pm, we are ready to make our cocktail. This time of year, I drink either a DIRTY MARTINI or a VESPER. Bing drinks CODIGO TEQUILLA shaken and poured into a martini glass so that it feels like we are both having a martini!

We light a (fake!) fire and pull out our awesome lacquer backgammon set. We got it a few years ago, but I’m not able to find a ink for it :(. BUT, when I was at Neiman Marcus last week, I saw two AMAZING sets – kinda pricey, but so great. I love the orange in THIS ONE and the purple in THIS ONE. This set by Mark & Graham is also really great. Our games get kinda heated and we usually split the wins – one for me and one for him. :

Anyhoo, if we haven’t made our own burgers, we order from a crazy place near our house called, Cafe Blue. I call it the Regal Beagle – like from “Three’s Company” because that’s what it looks like inside – hahahah. I gotta say…..they have the best burger in town.

Regardless of which burger we eat, I always make our own version of the SHAKE SHACK SAUCE. It really makes the burger, I must say. If you are at ALL scared of mayo, then this sauce is NOT for you. We happen to LOVE mayo……in fact, we eat a little too much of it. Maybe we should try avocado mayo…..naaahhhhh

Back to the Date Night……….

I was chatting with a friend and we decided that it’s kinda fun to get SLIGHTLY dressed up even though we are staying home! So, last week, I put on my new LBD with a suede boot like THIS or THIS, a PLAID TOP, earrings like THESE or THESE and my fav LIP GLOSS.

I was comfortable yet I felt kinda spiffed up!

So, the day I got the dress, I wanted to see how may ways I could style it. I pulled out a few pieces that I got back in the day that I worked at Oscar de la Renta. I never have just the right thing to wear with these pieces….until now..

As soon as we have finished the backgammon game, eaten our cheeseburgers and cleaned up the kitchen, I bolt to my closet and put on my cozy PJ’s!

I have a great lounge “set” that you can find on AMAZON. (Super popular!) I wear that on a regular night when I want to feel cozy, yet put together.

But, if I’m on the couch and ready to watch a movie, I put on THESE PAJAMAS from Meadow. They’re VERY comfy and super soft. They’d actually make a GREAT holiday gift.
